It's essential when working with a realtor to have confidence in who they are and to know that they share your values. So here's a little about Maureen and Paul so you know who you'll be working with.
Maureen was born and raised in Vancouver and attended UBC before doing graduate studies in England and the US. She taught at universities in the US and Canada before deciding to go into real estate - something that had always intrigued her. She has been very successful, earning sales awards year after year, but she considers her biggest success the high percentage of repeat clientele, many of whom have also become friends. She enjoys all aspects of the business, and she excels at negotiation, tracing her early interest in it back 35 years, bargaining in a market in Morocco!
Paul hails from Saskatchewan, and is a civil engineer by training with an MBA. He worked as a consulting engineer, was CEO of a business developing software for mining engineering, and spent a few years as a consultant for other CEOs before retiring. Not being a retiring kind of guy, however, and also being intrigued by the business of real estate, he got his real estate license and joined Maureen in the business. He now works in an unlicensed capacity with Maureen, focusing on marketing, communications and business strategies.
Together Maureen and Paul bring decades of unique expertise in business development, organization and management, and a passion for real estate, architecture and design to their work. Moreover, both have a view of the larger picture as well as the attention to detail essential to any real estate transaction. Their business is founded on experience, knowledge and trust, and their ethic of honesty and hard work, together with knowing their clients and their needs, helps their clients make informed decisions.
Maureen and Paul feel they have been very fortunate in their lives and careers and give back in a variety of ways. They have been offering free seminars at community centres and libraries throughought the city for several years now, and write a regular newsletter, providing market information, answering questions on real estate, and educating people on the processes of buying, selling and investing. In addition, Paul is past Chairman of the Board of BC Rehab, a charity devoted to providing assistance to individuals with physical disabilities, and Maureen and Paul also support a number of charities, including the Canadian Red Cross, Covenant House, the Stephen Lewis Foundation and the SPCA.
Both Paul and Maureen are very active in sports and enjoy the outdoors and travel when work permits. Paul, a lifelong cyclist, has done three triathlons, and Maureen plays tennis and runs, and hopes one day to catch up to Paul on her bike. Their rescue dog, Roxie, loves to run, but doesn't understand why she can't do the rest!
